Placing an order:
Can I order by telephone?
Yes, you can. Our order line is open from 10am until 4pm, Monday to Friday. Please call us on 0845 644 2375.

Can I place an order from outside the UK?
Yes, you can place an order from anywhere in the world, as long as your credit card has a billing address in either the UK, Western Europe, USA or Canada. Many people use Beautiful Things to send presents to loved ones while they are away from home.

Who do I contact if I have a query with my order or any of the products you offer?

How will I know that you've received my order?
Your order will be confirmed on screen immediately and you will also receive an order confirmation email from us. Please note that if you have ordered by phone or post and haven't provided an email address you won't receive an email.

How do I cancel an order?
We aim to get your products to you as quickly as possible and therefore if the item has already been despatched cancelling an order may not be possible. However, in the first instance you should telephone us on 0845 644 2375 to see whether your order has been despatched. Lines are open between 10am and 4pm, Monday to Friday or you can email us on orders@beautifulthings.co.uk.

Do you offer a gift-wrapping service?
All purchases you make at Beautiful Things will come wrapped with pretty tissue paper and we can add a personalised, handwritten card and matching bow for no extra charge. To use this option, please add your message in the box provided at the checkout, without ticking the box asking whether you want gift wrapping. However, if you prefer your gift to be wrapped with paper, we offer this service for an additional £2.50 - please tick the box asking whether you would like your gift wrapped and add your personal message in the box. We are only able to offer this service to deliveries within the UK, due to customs restrictions. Please note that if the gift is subsequently returned we are unable to refund this charge.

Delivery:
What are your P&P charges?
We have three delivery charge bands, starting from £1.95 with a maximum of £5.95, no matter how many items you order.
Charges are as follows:
For UK standard recorded delivery:
Band 1 - £1.95
includes things like jewellery, belts and other small products
Band 2 - £2.95
includes things like cushions, photo frames and some bags
Band 3 - £3.95
includes heavier objects like large pampering boxes and some bags
For Europe airmail recorded delivery:
Band 1: £5.95
includes things like jewellery, belts and other small products
Band 2: £7.95
includes things like cushions, photo frames and some bags
Band 3: £9.95
includes heavier objects like large pampering boxes and some bags
For USA/Canada airmail recorded delivery:
Band 1: £6.95
includes things like jewellery, belts and other small products
Band 2: £8.95
includes things like cushions, photo frames and some bags
Band 3: £14.95
includes heavier objects like large pampering boxes and some bags

What about the delivery charge if I am purchasing more than one item?
If you are buying more than one product then you will be charged the delivery rate for the highest band item, plus an additional amount, which is dependent upon the items you are ordering (this will normally be between 50p-£1.50 per extra item).

When will my goods arrive?
If you order before 3pm we aim to dispatch the same day but please note that at busy times it may take 2-3 days for despatch. Your products will be sent to you First Class Signed For, which means you should receive your order within two to three days of ordering (five to seven during busy periods). A signature will be required on delivery.

What if I need my order the next day?
We offer a guaranteed next working day delivery service within the UK for orders placed Monday to Friday for a surcharge of £5.00. Your order must be received by midday Monday to Friday and it will arrive by Special Delivery by 1pm the next working day. However, please remember that we aim to dispatch orders on the day they are received, so it is possible that your order may arrive the next day without the surcharge, but we are unable to guarantee this.

Can I have my goods sent to a different delivery address?
We understand that many customers are at work during the day and may like to take delivery there, or want to send their purchases as gifts, so you can have items sent to a different delivery address, but we will need your billing address as well. When you proceed to checkout you will be given this option. If you are ordering by phone, post or e-mail, please be sure to include both your home address, and the delivery address, if different.

What happens if I'm not there to sign for my goods?
A signature will be required as proof of delivery, so if you're not in a card will be left for you to either re-arrange delivery, or you will be able to pick up your purchases from a local depot. Alternatively, you can arrange for goods to be delivered to a different address where you know someone will be available to sign, work for example.

What information will the delivery note include on it?
We realise that many orders will be gifts, so we try to limit the information that each delivery note contains and the price is not included on our delivery notes. However, product code, product title and quantity are included. Please remember that we will need the delivery note for any returns.

Security and payment methods:
Is it safe to buy online at Beautiful Things?
Yes, it is. We realise that some customers are concerned about buying on-line, so Beautiful Things uses the most advanced software available to encrypt your credit/debit card details (SSL - Secure Sockets Layer). The details you enter are coded, making it unreadable to anyone but ourselves. You will notice the padlock on the bottom right of your screen appear when you enter our secure area.

What methods of payment are available?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Delta/Connect, Solo and Switch payments. Alternatively, if you order by telephone or through the post, you can also pay by cheque - cheques are payable to Beautiful Things Ltd. Please note that your cheque will need to clear before we are able to despatch your goods - we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

What information do we gather, and why?
The personally identifiable information we gather from you when an order is placed with Beautiful Things will only be used to help us serve you. It will be used to process your orders and personalise your buying experience on Beautiful Things. If you send us an email, we will retain the content of your email and your email address to respond to your message and handle any follow up and we ask for your email address to confirm your order. We give you the option of accepting or declining an offer to receive our newsletter and you can unsubscribe at any time by using the email address at the bottom of the newsletter. You are able to withhold all personal information that is not required to complete the order transaction. We do not collect any sensitive personal information in line with the Data Protection Act 1998. Personal information will only be held for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected. We only allow authorised personnel access to personal information you provide and you will not receive junk email, regular mail or unsolicited phone calls as a result of shopping with Beautiful Things.

What information do we share?
Information about our customers is an important part of our business. Beautiful Things Ltd does not sell, trade or rent your personal information to others, but we may choose to do so in the future with trustworthy third parties.
We work with other companies to perform functions on our behalf and may require to share the personal information we learn from you with other parties in the following situations:
Agents: Examples include fulfilling orders, delivering gifts, sending postal mail and e-mails, processing credit card payments and providing customer services. Such companies will have access to personal information needed to perform these functions and only have access to information required for that purpose and may not use it for any other purpose.
Promotional Offers: Other companies sometimes ask us to market their products and/or services on our site and we sometimes send these offers to our customers on behalf of these other businesses. When we do this, we do not give that business your name and address. If you don't want to receive such communication, please let us know by unticking the box at [Your details].
Business transfers: We are continually trying to expand and improve our business and we may sell or buy businesses or assets in these transactions. Customer information is generally one of the transferred business assets in these situations and in the event Beautiful Things Ltd or substantially all of its assets are acquired, customer information may be one of the transferred assets.
We require those companies to comply with our privacy policy, and they may not use it for any other purposes and are required to process the data in accordance with the UK's Data Protection legislation. We may also release information where required to do so by a legal authority.

Returns:
What is your returns policy?
Beautiful Things prides itself on its service and we are therefore pleased to offer a no quibbles return policy. If for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase you can return it for an exchange or refund within 14 days of delivery, providing it has not been worn or used and is in its original packaging. Please follow the process below:
- Telephone our customer services line on 0845 644 2375 - open Monday-Friday between 10am and 4pm
- Notify the customer services team of whether you would like an exchange or refund
- You will be issued with a Returns Number and the returns address
- Place the item in its original packaging, making sure to include the delivery note and clearly re-address the parcel
- We advise that you return things to us using a recorded delivery for your own protection, as we are unable to take responsibility for any items lost in transit
If the goods are damaged or being returned due to our error we will also refund any costs incurred in returning the items. Where goods returned are not faulty we will only be able to refund the cost of the individual item. Please also note that we can only refund to the card used to purchase the goods originally.

What should I do if the goods arrive damaged?
If any part of your order arrives damaged, you should notify us within 48 hours so that we can take this up with the carrier. You will then have the standard 14 days to make the return - please follow the procedure detailed above.

Using the site:
I'm not sure what I want - how do I browse the site and look for ideas?
There are several ways of browsing through Beautiful Things. The products are arranged by category and style in the navigation bar to the left of your screen, click on the link to be taken to items in each section. If you are searching for a gift for a special occasion, you might like to use our Gift Finder to give you some ideas - you can search by occasion and price by clicking on the drop down boxes. Finally, we also have a Star Sign section, which will also provide suggestions for the Star Sign of the Month.

I know what I'm looking for - how do I find it?
At the top of the navigation panels on the left of your screen you will find two different search options - a general search and an advanced search. If you enter either the title of the item you want, or the product code, our search engine should be able to locate the product for you.
